Summary

Oceanic LoL, a not-for-profit League of Legends community group, is hosting the Oceanic LoL Tournament #1 this Sunday the 17th of January at 10:00am AEDST! AussieGamingTV will be broadcasting matches from each round of the tournament, including the Best of 3 Grand Final! All the information you need is right here:

General Information

  • Date: Sunday 17th January
  • Time: Start @ 10:00am AEDST | Finish @ 7pm
  • Tournament Mode: Double Elimination

Game Rules

  • All preliminary matches are Best of 1, with the finals bracket being Best of 3.
  • Map: Summoner’s Rift
  • Mode: Draft Pick
  • Bans: Standard Pick-and-Ban phase applies
  • Teams that are not ready within fifteen (15) minutes following the start of the round will automatically lose the game.

Choice of Side

  • Choice of side will be determined by the tournament organisers. Team A = Blue Side, Team B = Red Side

Stoppages

  • A player, who experiences technical issues, on any team may call for a game restart (See 4.4 Game Restart) prior to first blood within the first 5 minutes of the game (i.e. before the timer shows 5:00). The player must be experiencing a hardware malfunction (e.g. monitor, peripheral, etc), a physical disruption (e.g. fan interference, table or chair breakage), or a configuration issue (e.g. runes, masteries, or summoner spells not properly applied). The player must declare the issue in public chat or to a tournament administrator and then intentionally disconnect. Once the player disconnects, the game is considered null and void and should be restarted unless an Oceanic LoL official determines that the conduct represents unfair play.
  • If a player intentionally/unintentionally disconnects without specifying a reason, then the game will continue as normal.
  • If a server crash occurs, the the tournament organiser or official will decide either between (a) restarting the game or (b) awarding the game to one of the teams. As a guideline, a game victory will only be awarded in a situation where one team was on the verge of a certain defeat (e.g. A nexus was about to be destroyed).
  • Teams may pause the game for a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes over the course of a single game. Pausing beyond the allowance time will be considered unfair play and penalties will be applied at the discretion of Oceanic LoL officials.

Game Restarts

  • There will be no game restarts unless under extreme situations. Final decision on game restarts will be at the tournament organisers discretion.
  • Champions who have not been available on the live service for more than 3 weeks will be automatically restricted.

Forfeits

  • Teams that nominate to participate in Oceanic LoL competitions are obligated to play till eviction, elimination or completion.
  • Forfeiting a match will result in a loss being awarded to your team; 0 competition points; and/or removal from the competition.
  • Any team forfeiting a second time will be replaced in the competition.
  • Forfeiting a series in a prized position (1st – 4th) will result in removal from the competition and no prizes being awarded. The team defeated in the previous match by the forfeiting team will replace them.

Signups for the tournament have closed, but you can watch on our stream and view the bracket here.
